check the air gap on the compressor clutch. I'm not sure exactly what the specs are. (Guessing about .016 inch) If not that then possibly a bad compressor clutch

I'm no expert but i'd check for play in either the front end components or the wheel bearings. If nothing found there it's possible to have a bad brake line.(expanding under pressure or blockage,restriction to one caliper)
i read the same article, these dampners have been around in the drag racing world for a long time. I'm not sure of the benefits for a diesel other than cancelling out harmonic vibrations. My previous experience has only been with high revving gas motors which never lasted very long anyway
