6.0 running rough, no throttle, no hot start

The FICM can cause issues only when hot, so don't underestimate the helpfulness of testing w/ a known good one. Sometimes electronic components just act that way. An air test when hot should probably be high on your list. Unplugging the ICP sensor only helps when you have a bad ICP sensor...

6.0 running rough, no throttle, no hot start

The power board is designed to step up even "lowish" voltage to 48 volts. The logic board takes what it can get. Low system voltage contributes and but it could possibly be a wiring/connector issue and maybe the FICM relay or fuse, but most of the time they are pretty much either good or bad...

6.0 running rough, no throttle, no hot start

I hate to recommend spending more money, but the Torque Pro is not that great of a code reader. The phone app ForScan Lite does a great job reading codes. It is free, unless you want the ad-free version .... then it is $10 IIRC. Also, you will need an OBDII ELM327 adapter (Wi Fi for i-phone...

6.0 running rough, no throttle, no hot start

Of the above four screen captures, was the second set of data taken when you were cranking with the ICP unplugged (since the ICP volts were zero in that attempt to start)?

6.0 running rough, no throttle, no hot start

The 04.5 year model did not have the troublesome STC fitting. That was in 05 and up ONLY. The 04.5 model year did increase HPOP capacity for the larger oil rails, but STILL had the weak swash-plate design HPOP. It did NOT get upgraded to the V4 piston style pump. That also is in 05 and up...

    tranny leak

Which line is it? You may just have to settle for an OEM line again. Transmission cooler line - Trans to cooler lines 03 and 04 3C3Z-7R081-CB Transmission cooler line - Radiator to cooler line 03 and 04 4C3Z-7C410-CA Maybe have it powder coated.

    6.0 fuel problems

What do you mean "nothing"? It doesn't crank at all (ie the engine doesn't even try to turn)? Also, you don't have a "high pressure filter". You have a primary filter where water is also removed and a secondary filter that filters down to smaller particles. The primary filter also houses the...

    Help Needed 6.0 no start

Definitely check connections first. Another possibility is an accessory dragging it down when cranking. You can remove the belt and crank to see if that is an issue.

It doesn't seem like a priority issue to the OP ................

    Getting a P0603 code.

What are your ICP (psig and volts) and your IPR (% duty cycle) readings when cranking? Are you getting Sync and FICM Sync when cranking? RPMs when cranking? Battery volts when cranking? FICM MPower and LPower volts when cranking? What are you using for a code reader (some readers do not...

    Doing Some Baseline Maintenance

The 6.0L does not necessarily shear a 40wt that quickly. Some oils hold up much better than others. My Mobil 1 TDT and Mobil Delvac 1 5W40 will shear to the TOP of the 30 wt range (12.5 cSt) in 5k to 6k miles (end even at 7.5k it is about the same as a virgin 10W30 - 12 cSt). Schaeffer 9000...

    6.0 issues

Glad the HPOP has cleared up a lot of your issues. The flutter/misfire might be some injector stiction (oil related). Might try some Rev-X or Archoil. Usually when I hear flutter though, I think of the turbo. Can't recall - did you get yours cleaned up?

    6.0 issues

Sounds like a bad HPOP and maybe an IPR problem as well.

    6.0 issues

So WOT ICP reading equals 1580 psi. That is pretty low. You need to inspect that updated fuel pressure regulator spring in there (look for abrasion wear and tear), but it looks like a fuel pump issue to me.

    6.0 issues

I can convert it, just post the units that it was reporting (obviously not psi or kPa either). Maybe megapascals?

    6.0 issues

The ICP operating range is 0-5 volts. If those are the actual readings you are getting, something is wrong w/ the ICP sensor. Thing is, it is supplied a 5V reference so I don't see how the signal can ever be more than 5 volts. MAP and Baro look good. The fuel pressure is marginal. Have you...

    6.0 issues

Any codes? Also, you need to post numbers. What is your fuel pressure? How low does it go? what is the range of fluctuation? Is the fluctuation random or does it coincide w/ engine operation? When were the fuel filters last changed? Have you drained some fuel to see if you got bad fuel...

Truck surges on startup from cold, fine after running a few minutes

Surging at idle is commonly an ICP sensor issue. Disconnect the sensor and see if the surging goes away.

    Question Question

The brakes are hydroboost (transmission fluid), not vacuum. No waste gate on 6.0L's either. Turbo or CAC boots blowing off could be EBP sensor, MAP sensor, or stuck vanes in the VGT turbo.

    Question Po603

P0603 doesn't necessarily mean you have a problem, if you are runing any kind of chip, programmer ,etc. you will get that code , if you change programs or anything like that.

FYI 6.0 egr turbo siezed from egr cooler failure

The guide vanes are on the turbine wheel (exhaust), not on the compressor (intake air). Shouldn't be any oil vapors in the exhaust, but there sure is soot and coolant (w/ the EGR cooler leak).

Question 2007 6.0 Check Engine Light On

9.5 times out of 10, a P0470 is solved with a new EBP sensor. I would suggest you get a scangaugeII, or something like it, to monitor engine parameters. If you do, then compare EBP, MAP and Bare at KOEO. Also, have you tried cleaning the MAP sensor hose and EBP tube? Otherwise, I would...

    How to check HPOP pressure

ScangaugeII is the easiest way. You can probe the ICP wires and get a voltage, but I don't know where to get at good correlation between voltage and pressure at all voltages. I do know that you need about 0.82V (equals 500 psig) to start. You can try disconnecting the ICP and seeing if it...
