    Announcement Fuel system

The "In Tank" mod was originally known as the "Hutch" mod. Years ago on a formerly popular "diesel" forum that many people would "stop" by at, a member called "Hutch-in-Aigusta" discovered problems with the 7.3 fuel system where air was getting sucked into the fuel system causing a noisey...

    Help Needed Blown turbo?

I thought my ears were "ringing"!! :lmao The first suggestion I can make for anyone who has blown an intercooler connector is a crankcase ventilation mod. I blew a connector once, it wasn't fun. The timing of it could not have been a worse place or time!! The stock crank case ventilation...

    What the heck was that?

I finally figured it out It was an E-6B Mercury, a command and control aircraft. From what I can tell, its a Navy aircraft.

    What the heck was that?

Nope, it wasn't a 747 airframe, more like a 707, similar to the first picture above.

    What the heck was that?

I've never heard of them. But maybe if Ironwood's airport had a 12,000 foot runway, Joe's might have got the business.:nudge Recently the local TV station did a thing where people could vote for the best pasty in da U.P. The winner was a place in Iron River, but Lawry's was one of the finalists.

    What the heck was that?

What was flying around here didn't have any markings to speak of. Pretty much all white, except for the black bubble on the top of the fuselage. For the reason it had virtually no markings, I think it was some sort of Boeing test flight. A couple of weeks earlier, we had the latest Boeing...

    What the heck was that?

About a week ago, we saw an aircraft doing many practice approaches and landings at the former air base, now airport that I work at. This wasn't anything I've seen before. It looked similiar to an E-8 Joint Stars except it did not have the "canoe" looking thing under the fuselage, but...

    95 engine into a superduty

I went through quite a bit of expense before I found someone who could get the tuning right for single shots in a Superduty. Save yourself the trouble and go straight to the solution: Bill @ Power Hungry Performance. Bill put a modified single shot, stock tune on my PCM as well as single...

    Question 2025 MPG's ?

I don't see it happening unless someone pulls their head outta their arse over exhaust emmisions. The more & more emissions restrictions the EPA forces on vehicles, the less the MPG gets. Just look at the diesel pickups over the last few years. If diesel engines were optimized for MPG...

Which power steering hose is this???

To be safe, I'd flush it out. You already have a hose barb in the line, that'd be a good place to drain the fluid from. Drain it, fill with ATF, run it, drain again and fill again with ATF. You're already strectching your luck with the pump, IMHO I wouldn't push it.

Which power steering hose is this???

If it's in the same line as the cooler, then it's the low pressure return line. A hose barb connector fix should hold. I believe the pressure line is all metal tubing. As far as knowing if the pump is damaged--:dunno:dunno If it starts making noise, that would be an indicator. FWIW...

    Happy Birthday to...

Wow, I'm a bit late on this one. Mrs TG and I spent a couple days at the campground and I pretty much went straight to work after parking the camper in the driveway. Geez, ya go off line for a couple days and Robert decides he's gonna have a BD!! I guess I'm just gonna have to start packing...

    02 Eng cooling sys questions

Be aware of a possible issue here. IIRC the correct T-stat will be a Ford unit. Even though the engine was built by Navistar, I've heard it said several times the water pump was not, it is a Ford waterpump. If that is true, then a Navistar t-stat may not be right. I think I heard there was...

    locking hubs

Before I did the Dyna-track front axle conversion, I got rid of the troublesome vacuum hubs and put some Warn manual hubs on. I took pictures of the process and posted them in my webshots page. A link is at the bottom of my signature.

July 31 FWIW. My son from Nashville got here and to my great surprise, our youngest daughter came too. I had no idea she was coming along until I got home from work tonight. I guess I got my birthday surprise early this year. So for the big lake party this weekend, all three of our kids...

    Announcement Happy birthday tailgunner

Update I thought I would revive this thread because it tells the story of the boat I got for my birthday a couple summers ago. And this post is sort of an update to that. Every summer, our son's best buddy has a big bash with friends at his family's camp out on the Dead River Basin...

Help Needed HELP with trailer charging!!!

I just remembered this when you commented about crawling under the truck. IIRC there is a ground wire attached to a bolt on the truck's left frame rail, about a foot ahead of the rear bumper bracket. It is the primary ground for the trailer connector. Take the bolt off, inspect it and ensure...

Help Needed HELP with trailer charging!!!

10 ga. wire is pretty stout for a 12v system. Voltage drop with that gauge wire should not be an issue. But there are other things to keep in mind. Your electrical system has to have a return path i.e. ground. If the ground is not up to the same capacity as the 10 ga. supply line, you...

So Which Handle Would You Reach For...???
