    Look close around the case for cracks, and check the seam for leakage. Cracks usually happen from foreign debris from the road, but extremely rare.

    There is a rubber boot that breaks down after time. The boot covers the shifter area. the second most plausible point for a leak is the front seal. The boot covers the shifter and is held in with the plate that holds the shifter in place.

    Sounds like that FINELY engineered Front Wheel Bearing assembly. Just replaced drivers side yesterday. (bearing under warranty) Bought em with a 2 year warranty, So about every year and a half I replace one side ... then the other.

    Good Job at heading things off at the Pass Dave... ahhhh and one other thingy that is often asked..... "Is it supposed to smoke like that?..." Yes.... Blue and white are common on a cold engine... however once things warm up a bit they will clear.

    Grinding going into 6th, if you haven't done a fluid change yet, do one, I recommend Amsoil or Mobile 1 ATF. If after the fluid change you find you are still having issues, add 1 quart of 5-20 motor oil Synthetic. You'll find the ATF is very thin and does not always provide enough resistance...

    Sounds like a cleaning is in order. recommend pulling the instrument panel out, checking and cleaning the wiring harness connectors. If possible pick up a new(used)unit from a local bone yard for a swap.

    Power Seats

    The seats motors are isolated from the frame, hens so is the ground. You should check the wiring off of the connector, On my truck I have a ground strap that bolts to the bottom of the seat frame. Its possible that it may have been kicked off or perhaps a corrosion issue.
