    stuck thermostat?

Thanks All-With a resource like SDD it is easy to make sure I'm not overlooking something simple! I appreciate it.:clap: And yeah, Dieselsite does have a quality issue if they've sold a part that goes bad that soon. However having had multiple dealings with Bob in the past pretty...

Question My truck sucks at towing, and here's why

I'm curious about 50# in the trailer tires...All of our ranch type trailers run 235-85x16s with 80# in them. We routinely haul max weights of stuff with no problems in both the 350flatbed and the sb. Fully sounds like tire issues to me...But often am I wrong! Mike

    stuck thermostat?

In Oct I put in a Dieselsite 203 stat and filter system. Worked great, felt stronger on the freeway and towing. Temp gauge showed appropriate numbers for the stat. Couple weeks ago put in new waterpump, belt, pullys and hoses. No issues tho havent driven it much since, but still gauges were...

Cluster dual pod ? 15003 autometer

I've got one on my 02 F-350. I like it, enabled me to mount 5 total gauges (3 overhead n 2 on the dash) It blocks a little of the water temp on the right. The left side blocks the glowplug indicator, ck engine lite, and the bottom 1/3 of the fuel gauge plus low fuel lite. All can be seen...

    Free spin conversions

Dynatrac has been around for quite awhile. When I put my kit in was amazed how beefy it was. The axle shafts are huge compared to the stock ones. Time intensive but not technically difficult install. Have no experience with the other kit, but would advise anyone to go straight to Dynatrac...

    How much Pain????

Justin, I bought the big wrench for the nut holding everything to the shaft, but I would bet you can rent it. Once you get the fan/clutch assy off the motor, there are four 13mm bolts holding the fan to the clutch. Same deal as R&Ring the water pump. Overflow container, single nut holding...

    Is there a "better" starter/7.3

Hey rammer If you havent already, disconnect the batts, then run a set of jumper cables from the batts to the starter and to ground. That will eliminate the terminals/cables from the equation.... Good luck, I hate electrical issues. Freakin electrons never go where they're supposed to!! Mike

Big Brother and GPS radio/nav systems

Now your signicant other may want to track ya...but I doubt that anyone posting to a board like this has the interest of Big Daddy!! LOL A GPS is a receiver only, unlike ur cell fone, laptop etc. It captures a signal put out by sats and internally computes your position. "They" cant track...

    Ball joints, grease zerks

I put 90s on mine. There is a little "bubble" or rounded area at the 90. Veeerry carefully ground this bubble flat..like only a couple secs on the grinder each; they're brass. The zerks lasted about 80,000 till I trashed the spindle bearings, which gave me the slop in the half shafts deal...

    Need transmission advice

I have this theory... when I bought my pickup, it had 45,000mi on it. Box stock. At about 140,000 I flushed the trans and noted fluid coming out the rear port of the transmission, meaning the cooler bypass was plugged. Never did notice any signs of overheating with the stock trans temp...

    LATCH system

Hi All Has anyone retrofitted lower anchors for the LATCH securing system, used with kids carseats. Both our 03 and 08 have the upper anchors but not lowers, meaning it's a big PITA using the seatbelts to secure the seat..:dunno Thanks Mike

    Transmission Cooler HELP

I will be interested to hear what ur mech has to say, Mike. Today is the first warm day we've had (mid 90s in Reno) and as I was driving in town I noticed my trans temps in the 170-190 range, and upwards of 200 idling thru traffic. I installed a temp gauge this winter, so not sure what the...

    trailer wiring

There are 2 pigtails at the rear of the truck. The first attaches to the main harness; it's on the dr side inside the frame rail. The 2nd attaches to this pigtail and terminates at the trailer plug. They are both available at the dealer. The 2nd is available, slightly cheaper, from online...

    R&R water pump

Thanks for all the replys!! Yup, already went the 203 stat n filter. The new thermostat didnt make a numbers difference, but could definitely feel a difference even on the stock chip setting, where I usually leave it around home. Because it is just this week warming up outside I have been...

Around where I live, folks have both. I have a CM, goin on 2years. Gets used heavily and we're very happy with it. Price is about the same, Bradford may be a couple hundred more... I dont like the attached sideboards on Bradfords. Sure as hell you have those folded down and ur gonna...
