Now your signicant other may want to track ya...but I doubt that anyone posting to a board like this has the interest of Big Daddy!! LOL
A GPS is a receiver only, unlike ur cell fone, laptop etc. It captures a signal put out by sats and internally computes your position. "They" cant track ya unless you transmit a sig back to another receiver like ur fone with a cell tower. (Which can do so even if turned off........) The normal GPS unit does no transmitting. On-Star etc do transmit data back "up". We used to get systems updates on my wifes 04 Duramax monthly, just like the systems on long haul truckers, ships, SAR systems etc.
So go to Ganders, Cabellas or Bass Pro with impunity!!!!!!!
