A 35 axle is a: Ford/Sterling Full Float 10.25 axle with 4:10 gearing and is an Open Differential. So with this swap, you would have the same gearing as you do now, but gain a Limited Slip Differential. Welcome, I have an 03 6.0 and love it. Like said above, take care of it and it will take care of you. Proper Routine Maintenance is a MUST. I go 5000 on oil and oil filter, and 10,000 on fuel filters. Use ONLY RACOR, IH (Navistar) or Motorcraft filters and a Hi Quality Full Synthetic Oil...- snicklas

I agree the same here..... My Excursion (which is the equivalent to an F-250) has I believe 5 leaves. I remember looking at this a few days ago after seen an older Dodge Dually and noted it only had 3 leaves I think....... I have 4 out of 5 upgraded, the 5th will be soon, since the hard drive just dies (nothing to do with Windows 10) and my stuff is far from the latest. My 8.1 machine is like 3 months old, but I just upgraded 2 netbooks that are 3 years old, a 4 year old, $250 eMachines, and an 11 year old...- snicklas

My opinion; if you are going to be pulling 14,000 pound trailer (so over 20,000 truck and trailer) you NEED at least an F-350 Dually, PERIOD. Dave and Crumm, I am actually in the process of updating all my computers to Windows 10...... I started with my 8.1 machine because it SUCKED!!!!! I really like 10, and all the machines seem to run a bit faster on 10 than they did on 7........- snicklas

Sounds like you may have a FICM on the way out. Mine was right at 115K when the FICM bit the dust. I used http://www.ficmfixer.com/ the have mine replaced. There is also a testing procedure on that site that tells you the health of the FICM. It was much less than a "half shell" from...- snicklas

Stiction? How many miles and what type of oil? How many miles in the truck/engine/injectors? Also, try plugging in the block heater and see if it does it tomorrow. Mine if I need to change oil and am starting to get a bit of Stiction, if I plug it in, it will not chug and be down on power...- snicklas

One question on both of these trucks. Do they have a limited slip rear differential? I have experienced in the past, on higher mileage trucks, when the clutches in the diff start to wear, when towing a heavy load, I've have felt a shudder. This is really noticeable if you are doing any...- snicklas

Not sure..... I have always seen them listed a 2003-2004.5 and 2004.5-2007.... They are "different" but I am not sure how they are different...... For example: 6.0L Powerstroke HEUI injectors, 2004.5 and prior years - $198.30 2004.5 and later years - $183.50 This is from the Conestoga...- snicklas

Question 6.0 wont start!
I run the 5W-40 Synthetic year around also. Really helps with the Stiction issues. I am @ ~142.000 on factory injectors so I do have a bit of Stiction issues on 15W-40 dino. My truck also "tells" me when it needs an oil change, even with the synthetic. I get a bit of a cold startup miss...- snicklas

Also, How cold is it there when you are having this issue? When it got below the teens Fahrenheit, with 15W-40 conventional engine oil in the crank case. It was just too thick to allow the engine to turn over without the block heater. Switched to Chevron Delo 5W-40 synthetic oil. That helped...- snicklas

Oil leak behind engine....
With that, it sounds like an O-Ring issue. I had an O-Ring problem on my 6.0, not an oil O-Ring, but an O-Ring in the cooling system. It was on the supply to the EGR Cooler, but when the engine was warm (or if I kept the block heater plugged in) it would not leak. It the engine and coolant...- snicklas
