    Stealth Module

As with any vehicle there's a sweet spot for MPG. I get my best freeway MPG between 75 and 80mph. I always say I drive my truck like I drive my Cobra. You kinda have to around here to keep up with traffic. But I seem to have less regens than others I talk to and do a little better on mileage. I...

    Exhaust cleaning

I had to respond to my own post. Apparently my truck knew what I said and wanted to change it up. I towed my car to and from Az this past weekend and it did a regen both ways. First time for everything I guess.

Question 2000 7.3 shutter when started

I was trying to find an exact time, but I'm having issues. I imagine it changes with the weather. The reason I say glow plugs is I believe they're only warmed up when the ECT is below a certain temp. Beyond that the plugs are warm enough to start the engine without having to wait. That's the...

Question 2000 7.3 shutter when started

What about the glow plugs? How long do those stay on after the first start?

    Exhaust cleaning

Unfortunately those of us in a state that deals with smog can't do that. And to be honest I don't really have an issue with mine. I see the message pop up telling me it's cleaning my exhaust and I move on. If he's loaded it shouldn't be doing a regen at all. I don't think I've ever gotten a...

    Won't start

The neutral safety switch wouldn't affect the truck while it was driving though. At least I wouldn't think so. Is the theft light blinking really fast when you try to crank it?

    Exhaust cleaning

Yours tells you it's clean? That's cool. Mine just tells me when it's doing the cleaning. And I know it's completed the cleaning because I've seen the messages while driving long distances.

    Exhaust cleaning

You need to put some miles on it. I think the manual says it can take up to 20 minutes for a full regen. Once in a while mine will start getting pushy so I hit the freeway for a bit and that seems to work. It's been a bit since I've looked in the manual, but I think you have to stay above 35mph...

    Exhaust heater sensor

I don't have any experience. But what I've done in the past for known stubborn bolts is start spraying it a few days prior with penetrating oil. Gives it time to work. Then maybe some heat if it still feels stubborn.

Amp Research Steps Wired To Upfitters

I would just splice into the power wire. Just pick which switch you want to use. But aren't the upfitter switches only powered when the key is on? So even if you have the switch on the steps won't move until the key is turned on.

    Question re Ford's Towing Selector

I knew the suspension between the DRW and SRW were different. But the SRW is the same. All the part numbers are the same in Ford's catalogue. Yeah. It saves money on registration, but you better hope you don't get pulled over at 9991lbs.

    Question re Ford's Towing Selector

That's weird that your door tag says 10k. I wonder if it's a registration thing? I know the 10k was a free option for my truck. Otherwise the door tag says 9990lbs. It supposed to save on registration fees. My understanding is that it is the difference between the state GVWR on the sticker and...

    Question re Ford's Towing Selector

I wonder if theres a typo on the pamphlet you're reading? My 250 has the 10k GVWR. I know it was an option for my year truck. I think the 350's were 11,300. If I add the numbers in the parenthesis on my door tag they come to 11,300. Which makes sense since 250 and 350 has the same suspension. At...

'02 fuel pump pumping air bubbles

Sounds like a check valve went bad somewhere. If there isn't one external in the line then its probably in the pump itself. Or when you put everything back together a connection didn't get seated correctly.

DPF deletion. Worth it or not? How?

It's illegal to remove any operating emission equipment. It's a federal law. But if you live in a place with no smog checks or inspections it's up to you. As for the benefits, I have no clue. My truck is still 100% stock. Seems everyone that does the delete is happy though. If I ever move to a...

    2020 Super Duty rumors

I think the first couple years of 6.7's had turbo issues. Mostly to do with the ceramic bearings. I knew a guy that went through a couple. But then his truck was tuned and deleted shortly after buying it.

    Turbocharger question

I've noticed mine is a little noisier on the colder morning start ups. I don't really notice the turbo anymore than usual though. Maybe its something in the ECU using the turbo to help things warm up faster. Like the old exhaust gas crossovers in the carbed days

    Trip Meter Problem won't Clear

Push the OK button one more time. I've done that a few times. Hitting the OK button should clear it.

    Engine light (Solid) not blinking

If you have a hand held tuner you can use it to clear the light. Some parts stores can clear it too. Or you'll need a scanner of some sort. Something like the Torque App with a blue tooth adapter.

Recommendations on best Tuner for basic delete

Was that a custom tune or canned? The SCT hand held just used to transfer the tune from the computer to the vehicle. Bully Dog and Diablosport are similar. I use the SCT software to tune my Cobra.

    Another newbie here

Congrats on the new purchase. I bought my 2015 new and its still stock. It's a record for me leaving a vehicle stock. I haven't had an issue with a lack of power yet.

    Death Wobble!!!!

This is a problem with the 17+. As far as I know the 11-16's don't have the issue. I've never had the issue with my truck. And just because the shocks look new doesn't mean they are. I swapped to Bilsteins around 30k. My originals looked good on the truck, but I found leaks when I took them off.

Recommendations on best Tuner for basic delete

SCT is the brand of software and hand held devices. They just hold the tune. I've seen a few companies that will sell the hand held with the tune and a delete kit together. But I couldn't tell you who they were off the top of my head. I dealt with Five Star in the past but I don't think they...

Smell of engine and dirt in cab

Unfortunately this one is going to require you climbing around the truck and checking things. If the door seems slightly open you can adjust the latch so it closes properly. If you still have the dust and smell issue you're going to have to check the condition of the rubber plugs and seals and...
