Has anyone come across any good articles or how to videos to use an upfitter switch to kill the power to amp running boards?

I know amp makes a toggle switch that gives up, down, and auto control but I really have no interest in drilling holes in my dash. It would be great to be able to turn them off in the up position with an upfitter switch. Damn things get clogged up with mud and ice this time of year and dont like to close.

Thanks for any help!

I would just splice into the power wire. Just pick which switch you want to use. But aren't the upfitter switches only powered when the key is on? So even if you have the switch on the steps won't move until the key is turned on.

Good point but I think on the newer trucks you can set #5 and #6 to always be on.
