    Lucas Oil addative products??

Lucas is, in my opinion, the best oil additive i've ever tried. I put a gallon of it in my pete every oil change. It has 730,--- miles on it now, and about 80,000 miles ago, I had an inframe complete teardown done. The mechanic told me that the main bearings looked so good that he almost...

Question AC Blower issue (I think)

Also, check the heater core/evaporator fins in the heater box under the dash. They can get plugged up with lint n crap over the years. I've pulled many a blower motor and cleaned up the heater core/evaporator in my day! Also check to make sure the evaporator isn't icing up. Be sure not to run...

    Hard starting after injector change

X2 Big Joe, The 2 cycle oil is the cheapest route to gain lubricity back in the fuel, which will quiet down the motor considerably. JMO

    Latest thoughts on Trans fluid?

Sorry, it's been a long time since i was on here last. I'm just running my a#$ off trying to pay the bills lately. My sd has a manual trans, but the wife's tahoe has valvoline synthetic. 153,--- miles, it has a trans temp gauge, and it's pulled max combined weight of 12,000 lbs more then...

    comment Smoking and a choking

Crumm, I tried this stuff myself, along with others, and they also claim that the fuel mileage savings would double the cost of the howes. I never saw an increase in the mileage. Over several months of really giving it the benefit of the doubt, and checking real numbers, (my ifta filings are...

Question Max tire size for stock 2000 F350 4x4

If you level the front, the 315's would fit real well. I just had a little rub on the springs at full lock, until i got the new wheels. If you're looking for the max tire size you can get onto the stock truck, the 285's will end up being to small shortly after putting them on. I would level...

    Latest thoughts on Trans fluid?

For regular atf, I've always tried to keep the temps below 250 deg, if it hit 250, I'm pullin' over. With synthetic, you can take it a little higher. The key for me is to keep the fluid from burning, as it will ruin it's ability the lubricate and condition the internal parts. Usually, the...

    Cruise Control STICKING

Yes, it should be the same brake light switch that deactivates the park lock, and it should also cancel the cruise. It's main purpose in life is to turn on the brake lights when you hit the pedal, are you getting good brake lights? Can you wiggle the pedal and get them to come off/on...

    Question 99 F-350 lift questions

I am all about the lifts as well, stock is lame, but the reality is that if you plan on putting a camper in the back, you're better off keeping it very reasonable. You can get big meats on these trucks with minimal lift, I have just the leveling kit on the front of mine. It allows for 35"...

    AC compressor question

Boy that's a new one on me, maybe it is just a bad valve like JL said earlier. Problem is, there's no way to test it that i know of. Might just have to replace it and see what happens. Hopefully it isn't a whole hose assembly. Ford would be able to tell ya, but you might not want to know...

    Repair Bill for your review

The whole cab flip would be nice, it would be easy to get to everything. Just have to make sure everything was bolted down in the cab so you don't need a new windshield when ur done!

No kiddin, Dave. That would be nice, but that dang front axle is in the way. Be nice if we could flip the front clip open to work on it too! Why don't you weld your fenders to the hood and put hinges on it. Then let me know how it goes will ya? Lol

    Help Needed leaking pinion seal

In my experience, it takes a hE*& of a lot to crush the sleeve, if you hammered on it with a big gun, you might get it to move, but not if you just cranked down the nut. When a new sleeve was installed, i had a hardtime getting the sleeve to crush to get the pinion turning torque right. JMO...

x2 on the squeaking, n use marine grease so it won't wash off at the first mud puddle! Don't forget the sway bar endlinks, n the shocks as well. just hit the shock bolts and squeeze em a little more, same for the endlinks. Just a thought if the track bar doesn't help. Just to play devil's...

70hr seems pretty reasonable to me, was that a rebuilt head? or was it two? or just labor to go through them both? Unfourtunately, these kinda bills seem to happen now and then. Ball joints, grease zerks

For what it's worth, Moog claims that they're ball joints don't even need greased, the only reason they have grease zerks in them, is because the public feels better with a zerk to grease. I cap off my uppers with the plug they come with, after i grease them once when installing. So far i've...
