    7.3 overheating

The exhaust backpressure valve has an elecrtrical connection at the bottom of the turbo in the pedestal, not a vacumn hose i believe. I just disconnected mine and it's run fine ever since. Had a buddy's buddy have a problem similar to yours, and he did disconnected this electrical connection...

    Question rough running 7.3

You might be right in thinking injectors, but start with the obvious easy stuff first. Check out the glow plugs, and if it still runs rough, then dig deeper

Help Needed stubborn rotor on 04 f250 4x4

X2 JL also check the face of the "hat" of the rotor for threaded holes.(the hat would be the raised part of the rotor if it was sitting on a bench with the lug stud holes in it) Usually the rear rotors will have two opossing threaded holes that you can tighten some small bolts into to "press"...

    Guage Readings

Seems right in line with what I see, you won't see anymore boost or exhaust temp without a load, or a heavy foot. As long as the check engine light doesn't come on, and the egt stays below 1200 degs, ur good to go whatever you're doin! It's been my experience that you don't want the trans temp...

    brakes dragging

If the calipers are sticking, I would ditch gthe rebuilding and just replace them with aftermarket parts. It's way easier and you get a warranty. one obvious way to tell if a caliper is dragging is to check both sides, if one wheel rools easier than the other, then squeeze the piston back as...

    Question Suspension Comparison

In my experience, the rough country kits are just that, rough riding. They seem th appeal to the guys that are counting every dollar, and always go cheap. Fabtec, and procomp seem to be 2 of the better kits, not familiar with rize. But definately consider the rear springs if you can afford...

    6.0 with overheating issues

Did he get all the air out of the cooling system? Sounds like a classic air bubble to me. The air bubble will roam around in the system sometimes, but not be able to get to the overflow tank. I would check your coolant level when cold, before you start it and add if needed, you may have to...

    Opinions on bed liners

Don't know about the price, but I've seen alot of work/construction trucks with rhino lining in them that held up good. It would be where I would go if mine needed it. IMO

    smoking pretty bad

If the're only 12 bucks, and you've got time to spend rather then money, then do all of them. Then you know you won't have to again. Nothing worse then doin something more than three times. (Don't ask me how I know!)

Question Would end link busings cause this?

Sorry for the late reply guys, but I don't always have time on the road to access the computer. vinceje I'm glad it worked out for ya, I have personally chased this one round and round, and it can get pretty frustrating. If it comes back fairly quickly, then I would suggest a rebuild of the...

New here looking for a truck

I own a lariat, so I don't know all the differences from the other option packages, but the leather in mine is awesome for cleanups with kids (or clumsy friends). I don't really think there are alot of differences powertrain wise, the 7.3s are pretty straightforward. Just depends on what you...

    ac condenser

There is a tool you can buy that can straighten the fins, it's called a condenser comb. You see them all over, at the usual parts houses, snap-on trucks, etc. I would straighten before I bought new, as long as the tubing is still in good shape. Have you had the a/c serviced recently? Now...

    clutch

If he made it to 200,000 miles on the origiinal, does he also still have the multidisc factory piece of &*%^? Could be an added expence if he has to buy a flywheel also. Just somethin' to think about, although i would be very surprised if he made it that far on the factory junk.

    horrible hesitation when accelerating

Did you check the exhaust back pressure valve for malfunctioning? It's the valve that closes when the engine is cold, to warm up the engine faster. It also makes it sound like a jet landed in your driveway. When if acts stupid, at can close when your driving and act like a closed exhaust...

    Hard Start update

X2 BJS, if the starter sounds like a electrical short, then my guess is you do. It's just inside the starter were you can't see it. Time for a starter, also check all your batt connections for corrosion/oil intrusion. And tightness as well. Good Luck

    Slightly unstable at speed

What's the alignment like? If you have little to no caster the truck will wander all over. Also, you never mentioned wheel bearings on this latest post, have you checked them for endplay, it's a common problem. Also, I assume that you don't have one or both hubs locked in with bad axle...

    Power Steering Leak

Worst case scenario, you may have to take it somewhere and have a dye put in to see where it's leaking. They can use a blacklight to see where the dye comes out. Good luck

Question Would end link busings cause this?

One thing to think about if the endlinks don't fix it, is the slip and splines on th erear driveshaft. Seen many fords from rangers to f-450s that have a single "clunk" when starting out from a stop, or when changing direction(ie forward to reverse, and back). The splines come from the factory...
