2001 7.3 excursion slow acceleration

my 2001 7.3 excursion falls on its face under acceleration...sometimes it hesitates for 5 seconds before it takes off. it doesnt do it all the time. when it doesnt do it, it accelerates like a raped ape. is it turbo lag? fuel filters? help!!!!!

Well how long ago was the filter changed, heck there cheap and quick and easy to change.Doesnt seem like itd be that though.

X2 on the ebpv, could be closing at inoppertune times. Just unplug the connector at the valve and see what it does!
