I am having difficulty removing the rear brake rotor on my 2004 F250. The rotor looks as if it should be able to be tapped of gently and does not have anything other than rust perhaps that is preventing the rotors removal. any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

could be a couple different things..
big nasty rust ridge interferring...
e-brake shoes coming apart..
e-brake adjusted up too high..

I'd go with a combo of #1 & #2...

beat the hell out of it..
break it if you need to..
get a new one anyway...

X2 JL also check the face of the "hat" of the rotor for threaded holes.(the hat would be the raised part of the rotor if it was sitting on a bench with the lug stud holes in it) Usually the rear rotors will have two opossing threaded holes that you can tighten some small bolts into to "press" the rotor off the axle flange. But make sure the e-brake is released/not dragging first or you will ruin the e-brake shoes and hardware. Good luck!
