Round trip on BD with new tank

Do not know, did not check it. Some say yes, but I will have to check it for myself. So much wind up here in the Prairies, hard to compare to anywhere else. Also, still have to experiment with the aux tank to understand where the gauge reads. the float is adjustable and when I installed it...

Round trip on BD with new tank

All I can say is it's SWEEEEEEEEET! Made the trip from Omaha to Minneapolis and back trouble free. Ride up, 100% BD, ride back about 70%. Truck runs so much better on BD. The tank worked flawlessly. And filling with the through the shell filler was a snap. Glad I did it! Man fuel prices...

    Help, Motor install delayed

I am better with real names but when I saw GA, I thought that sounded familar. If you want, have him call me direct, I would be glad to answer any of his questions of give any explanation he would like. IH does make a 444 with-out the EBPV, like in a bus or wrecker truck, so the design of the...

    redneck build summary (pretty long)

Patience grasshopper! :) It will all be a memory (and lessons learned soon) enough. There’s much to do, cleaning, polishing. Send me your VC’s and I will have Tyler lay some flames on them! :sweet Or better yet, plan a weekend up here and bring along what ever you want to polish and have...

Stuffin a square peg in a round hole!

I wonder too if the bigger one is not from taking it off and on and maybe a crappy forklift operator. I also have some of the tiny ones like your talking about, seem to be more in the gel coat than anything. Would not be hard to fix up, harder to get off and handle the topper in the garage. I...

    flameing stacks?!!

Ya know Rich, if you just put the biggest injectors you can get, some good fuel and a big turbo, then run the exhaust stright out the hood up about 2 feet, then hook the truck to something real solid and pull like heck, I'll bet you get flames out of the exhuast. Then when your done, pull the...

    Help, Motor install delayed

You answered your own question! While he is probably a very good and capable mechanic, I am sure he does not have the intimate and detailed knowledge as you will find here. Many of the mods are time proven. Where did you get that pedistal modded, you do or did I get you one? Rick H...

Stuffin a square peg in a round hole!

Yea, thats right. Now can you re-program that, to soften the launch, it seems to be a bit jerky between zero and 15'. After that it is pretty smooth, well up to 100' then air currents ....... Only four I really watch regular, three in the pillar and fuel in the overhead...

Stuffin a square peg in a round hole!

Yes it is polished, I got board waiting three months for head studs back when I was putting the engine together so starting polishing anything that was not painted. Do not recall what brand the topper is, yes it does have a crack or two. I bought it used last year so do not know how old it is...

Let me know when you are ready to "Flip The Switch" so I am no where near the East Coast!!!!!!! The ones I have seen give a flame but not really a long one, so looks kinda whimpy, but maybe thats just me. Now that jet powered big rig, now thats some flames! Rick H...

Hmmm, never thought of that! Really tried to avoid modding this truck. BUT I JUST CAN NOT HELP MYSELF! :D I think I need threapy or something .:dunno The decission to cut out the wheel wells was a big one, but I think In the long run, the extra capacity will be worth it. Put 30 gallons in...

Ok got it all hooked up and working. Man that was a bigger job than I thought it would. A lot of custom fabing. And so far NO LEAKS! Only thing left to do it hook up the heater on the filter. Not a priority though. Rick H... http://www.omahametropsd.org/PollokValve.jpg...

Stuffin a square peg in a round hole!

WOW. That was a LOT of work! Now I know why the install of a transfer flow can be $400 and up! Got everything tied together, fuel side and electrical side and all seems to be working. Kind of different cutting into the fuel line and having the fuel smell like somebodies cooking something! Sure...

How cold can I run Bio Diesel?

You are in a tough region for BD. Most quality BD will start to crystalize around +37 deg F. You could mix it with #1 and would just have to experiment with percentages at the temps you are likely to encounter. You can add antigels to your #1/BD mix and that will help. Last winter I plugged...

Ok Mike... Do you know of a publication that shows trails in that area? I can not find anything. Worked on the tank last night just not much time to get it done! Got the filter and Pollack valve installed only to find the kit is missing the pollack valve electrical plug, dang it! I have...

Well I do not know. We are in the planning stages right now and WY keeps coming up but I just can not find anything out there! Even that Yellowstone thing does not interest me with the fees they want to charge! I am leaning toward CO again, lots we did not get to see and they have TWO paper...

Well got the tank bolted down last night. Went to Ford to price a filler neck then RAN to U Pull It junk yard and got a filler neck off a utility body and will be putting it through the side of the camper shell. Ford wanted 300 bucks for the silly thing! U Pull It cost Zero, Nata, freebee...

Yes, just finishing up 55 gallons and got to looking, I have close to 400. Have not heard of any tracks opening here or Lincoln. Garage Floor Coatings/Options ?

I did mine about 87 years ago. The front garage was original 20 something years old. Had a tough time getting it clean enough and over the past years it has come off. Only thing that will attack the epoxy is brake fluid. Everyting else did not bother it. Well except welding and cutting...

Correction on clearances.... 4.5 travel of axel before stop. 7.5 from tire (front of tire that would contact the pocket if the axle stop was not there) to corner of pocket. Still plenty of room. Think I will start saving empty pop bottles, but what about the fem......???? Oh the heck with it...
