I thought our emission regulations were largely responsible for keeping foreign diesel manufacturers out of the country......:dunno

i would say that is not the case as the only diesel CARS that we have are all foreign imports. off the top of my head-

VW Golf/Jetta
VW Toureg
Audi A3
Audi Q7
BMW 335d
MB 350
MB ML350
MB GL350
MB R359

you think that there is enough demand for them to import them here? our emissions standards are nothing compared to the european standards. these are not USA only vehicles, they are euro vehicles brought here.

big 3 and big oil lobbied for crappier fuel than they get in europe, so we are starting with inferior fuel to begin with, so meeting higher emissions is going to be harder

the fingers must not have been working right when I typed that :doh:, I was once upon a time looking at buying a diesel ranger, the explorer on the other hand never did get the diesel,

yeah, but the Escort did..
