Ill assume youre talking about the REAR FRAME mounted
receiver hitch (the one under the rear bumper)....

different trailers use different ball sizes...so it might not do any
good for someone to have included or given you one w/ the truck
anyway.

NONE of the trucks came with a ball or mount fromn then factory...
depending on what "class" hitch you have its either a 2" or 2.5" receiver.

make sure you use a PROPERLY rated ball & mount...many
of these "JUNK" ball mounts (available at walmart and pep
boys, etc) are rated considerably less than the hitch can
tow. (typical mounts & balls are rated at 5000lb/500lb
maximums....gross trailer weight/tongue weight)

once you figure out which hitch you have you can order
the mount & appropriate ball (size) on line....

Mine is a 2.5 and it should have a reducer to make it a 2 in. Someone probably lost it for you. The hitch is rated for 15.000 LB.

If it's the factory Ford V-5 15k hitch it's a 2-1/2" and there is a bushing to go down to 2". It sounds like you are missing just the bushing to use the 2" ball mounts, Easy $20 fix CLICKY HERE.

Yes... 2" are usually class 3 or class 4

On the Ford factory V5 receiver on my '06 dually the following is on the lable.

2.5" without adapter
- with Weight distributing hitch 15000# gross trailer & 1500# tounge weight
- weight carrying hitch 8000# gross trailer & 800 lb tounge weight

2" with adapter
- with Weight distributing hitch 12500# gross trailer & 1250# tounge weight
- weight carrying hitch 6000# gross trailer & 600 lb tounge weight

sounds about right. I have a class 5 hitch and run a solid steel 6 in. drop to tow my 10000lb skidloader. The hitch frame is rated at 12000lb, and the reciever at 12000lb. You probably do have a 2.5 in. reciever hole, like the others said.

the locking pin "size" is the same. the locking pin hole
SHOULD line up (if the ball mount is made right).
