I'm going to try a small batch of bio next month, I have a gas station that will give me the used oil that they make their doughnuts in.

Who makes Bio anyway & Blends are not bio,

Part of the acceptance and distribution of bio is limited because BIGOIL does not actually make it. The brewers/distillers of bio are other companies that are heavily tied to the likes of ADM, Monsanto and Cargill & the like.

Here is a link from the biodiesel.org site that has good info. Keep in mind the source that is a trade group and fundamentally its purpose of marketing and publicity in mind. There is interesting reading on using greater than B20 and the like too.

The biodiesel folks will of course tell you to avoid WVO/SVO blends because they member companies don;t sell plain oil, they sell the refined product.

Do blends work? Sure and many people have done it with ok results.

Take a look at the discussions in the Bio & Alt fuel section of the forums. Lots of good info there.

Personally, I don;t like the idea of blends but that's my mildly educated opinoin.
