Would you buy a 96 7.3L?

I looked at a 96 F250 with the 7.3 psd today. It was a 4x4 with an auto tranny that was supposedly rebuilt recently. The dude was asking $3,200. It was in good shape on the outside, but the inside is wore out. I have no clue how many miles are on it/ not listed. I tried calling the given #, but the lady has no clue about a truck for sale.

I think it would be a nice buy if everything is in working order. What would you guys do?

For $3,200 bucks you could part it out and make $$$$ so I think if it is not a total wreck it would be worth it.

If you can get a hold of someone to talk to I would investigate further. sounds like a good deal

Ask if they will split the cost of a transmission service. That will tell you about the state of the truck. If the transmission is good, it seems like a good deal.
