Question won't boot up

If you find that the power supply is bad, you will have to get a new one from the computer manufacture (Gateway) as they have their own connectors that will not fit a Standard off-the-shelf power supply.

might come to that.. got one from Best Buy tonight, and it will fire the system up..

BUT!

the tower won't run the monitor..

however, it is fun with the widescreen monitir plugged into #2's laptop...

Best Buy power supply did for the tower..
all I had to do was get one with an internal rather than external fan..

then
some dumbass pulled the CPU out of it checking for burn marks
and couldn't get it back in the receptacle because the heat sink was in the way..

so... a filet knife and a smear of heat sink compound later..
