Windshield wiper issue

My 2000 F350 has an unusual problem. If it's raining outside and I turn the intermittent wipers on and then off they still stay on. The only way to turn them off is to shift the turn signal (same arm) left and right. That deactivates the short and stops the wipers from coming on. Any suggestions? If I replace the turn signal/ wiper control arm will that fix the problem? Throw me your suggestions. Thanks....

I would say yes, it should be the issue, or you can pull the steering wheel cover off and see if you can see a loose wire.

I believe there is a recall on that issue. Some trucks were catching fire because of it.
