Wierd Boost line back into intake

I found a wierd heater hose line coming from my intake where the intake air temperature sensor is, the hose was teed in and the sensor on the end of the tee. From there the hose goes back into the intake where the crankcase ventilation would normally be. Me and my Diesel buddy are confused as to how the truck even made boost like this, let alone 24psi.

I took it off, since I took most of the previous owners stuff off to rewire everything (the guy would splice wires with tape 3 times in one foot.. instead of just getting a longer wire)

Anyone else see something similar??

Not really, it was just a piece of hose and a tee.. previous owner did it.

I guess not too many have this extra hose for "performance reasons" so I will leave it off.

Essentially it vented boost back into the airfilter for some unknown reason

sounds like he prefered to do downgrades as opposed to upgrades.
