Biodiesel Rules!
Omaha to Galveston to Arkansas to MO back to Omaha.
2,200 miles pulling travel trailer.
Total fuel cost $209 of Homemade "Road Tax Paid!" Biodiesel.
Pump price of the fuel... $1,027 bucks!
Savings of $818
And to the big oil companies...
The savings paid for our RV Spots Food and typical crap the kids had to have along the way.
Truth is, we would have not taken this long of a trip if we had to buy the fuel.
The 97 ran like a champ, the Alt and vacuum pump however did not make it.
Funny how things worked out, stop to wiz on the side of the road, heard a noise and looked under the hood, the alt was about to go, limped into Perry Oklahoma and found an O'riely with 30 min to spare before closing, 30 min down time and back on the road. Then in Buffalo Texas, brake lights comes on, wow no brakes!!!! Vacuum pump quit, thank goodness for 4.10 gears and trailer brakes. Limped another 60 miles and found and Advanced Auto, 45 minutes later back on the road.
I guess with 197,*** miles gotta expect some things to give out.
With the after market parts I put on and knowing their history, I think I will carry a spare Alt and Vac when going out of town.
Well thats my Biodiesel Story and why I go through the effort.
Vacation 1 of the season down, vacation 2 coming up!
