White/Blue smoke on take off

thats when i first noticed the white crust all over the engine compartment, after towing. thats also when the smoke got noticibly worse so Im really hoping thats the problem. Is the dealership sure thats the issue? Have they dealt with that issue before??

Turns out it was the EGR valve.
They changed it out and I saw a few huffs of smoke for the first 100 miles on start up and now she runs like a raped ape and NO smoke.

If they replace the egr cooler, the should replace the oil cooler. Usually the oil cooler causes the egr cooler failure.

any chance that this problem is covered under warranty???!!!

On mine it was just the EGR valve and yes it was covered under the 100,000 mile warrenty but I had to pay the $100 deductable because I was over 36,000 miles.

Another note, While I was speaking to the Service manager he suggested to add the extra 100,000 mile warrenty for $2000 because everything that goes is usually over $2000, I told him I had planned on it.

Computer Help

I have a 2004 F350 6.0. I was wanting to know if anybody has tried one of those reprogramming computers and or chips. Wanting to get some better fuel mileage with the price of diesel going up. Thank you for your time. John
