Whinning noise 06 superduty

I have 06 F250 6.0 truck has whinning noise coming from drive train I think cause I put in N when driving and noise is still there. Have owned truck since new it has 41k on it. Any suggestion o n what noise might be?

can you be more specific
is it a like a tire whine or high pitch whine like a MIL at a bakery looking at day old bread

or is it a lower tone whine like a rear gear


or a mid pitch

is it varied at speeds or does it stay constant?

if you sit in nuetral and stopped and rev the motor does it come back?

does it get louder when you turn the wheels....it could be the power steering pump

IT is a mid pitch whine if I had to guess it kinda sounds like a noisey bearing. I know it isn't tires or power steering.

It does get louder the faster I go.

does it have a 2 piece driveshaft?...carrier bearing in the drive shaft?

id say carrier bearing, or the pinion gear bearing isnt preloaded right.

Took truck in and whinning was a bad pinion bearing 40K miles and chrome was comming off bearings. What ever happend to " Built Ford Tough" ???
