Hey guys ---

I am planning on doing this install as soon as the weather warms up...

I have been told and have read that this does not help on the performance side of things...

Its original design was to resolve turbo issues...

What is turbo surge?

Does this wheel make a differance performance wise

** Don;t know where you heard & read that.. but I disagree.

Its original design was to resolve turbo issues...

** The issue was/is, The Whine. Some didn't like it.

What is turbo surge?

** Surge is basically a Dead Spot, caused by a cavitation that occurs when the OEM wheel can't (by design) bite or pressurize the intake air, at about 15-1800 RPM.

Does this wheel make a differance performance wise

** Yes it does. Doing the Mod >Reduces< the surge. Noticably.

There's a bit more to it, but (IMO)this is a Good Mod to do.. on a 99.5 to 04 7.3.

Use the Search feature and look for "Turbo Surge".. you'll find a Ton of info about it.. and the Mod, to help you fully understand more about It.. and your 7.3.

ha ha. Oh it will help out any truck that has been modded. its just that ford didint think it was great, thats why they stopped coming with them on their trucks mid 99 I think. something to do with noise and lag and what nots... so the stock wheel is really the upgrade if you go by fords book.
