Where to get stuff chromed

does anyone recommend a place in the southeastern region that does an affordable and great job of chroming things?

i want to get my two boost tubes chromed while the engine is out of the truck.

It's not chrome, but I know Jet-Hot can apply a shiny silver ceramic coating that should last longer than chrome underhood, plus it will help keep engine bay heat out of the pressurized section of the intake.

its at the dealer, gonna get some new head gaskets, new H11 head studs and a stage 1 regulated fuel return system from elite-diesel installed.

its been pukin real bad. so i finally decided to go ahead and

you realize CHROME does not REDUCE heat...in fact it makes things HOTTER
(and i dont mean from a reflective perspective)...chrome tends to
trap heat IN.

that said its been years but i have used browns plating (in kentucky)
many many times for chrome and gold plating of motorcycle parts...
top notch and very well known !

you MIGHT consider powder coating...the coating holds up better
and can look as good or better than paint or chrome...and you can
PICK your color (including chrome)...its typically CHEAPER to apply
TOO.

eastwoods has DIY kits (can use the wifes oven to cure "large" parts).

i guess i was using chrome in a generic sense. i want it shiny, but be heat resistant. the link that jv gave looks like the very thing i would like to do

that crossed my mind too. but i like that shiney stuff better. especially under the hood. i have just bought several billet aluminum covers for the oil filler tube, coolant bottle cap, brake fluid res. cap, power steering res. cap, oil filter cap, fuel filter cap, and oil disptick cover. so the boost tubes would really look good shiney.

i do plan on painting the banks high ram manifold med. wedgewood blue with the letters on top in silver.

a GOOD way to reduce heat is to have the INSIDE of the tubes
ceramic coated...

jet-hot used to be the ONLY way to "coat" an exterior that was subject
to HIGH HEAT...powder coating will provide a more paint like finish (typically
smoother than the jet hot ive seen)...and powder coat can sustain
the high heat of exhaust (now).

since you WONT be subjecting the parts to very high heat i think youd
have better options (and cheaper) w/ powder coating...and its more likely
that you can find a local shop to do it.

id check that "dealer list" from browns plating web site and see if they
do "in house" powder coating and see what they say.
