I just installed my passport 9500i smart wire and dont know where I should run the mute button. I have it sitting on the dash right now next to my bottom gauge, but the light is awfully bright at night.

Where do you guys have yours?

Any ideas would be helpful!

well this is like a little box and not just a button. I wonder if it would still fit there? I know there are people who have mounted their valentine one mute buttons there, but would that work with imne?

I mounted mine in the left side of my cubby, fastened to the top with velcro. Still allows for cubby use, and is within easy reach.

NO real applicable information here:

man I have to be getting old I was thinking just the other day, Why do you even need a radar detector. When the interstate speed limits were at 55 I had one but today I'm driving the same speed and now within 5 of the limit. Not to mention that the PSD starts drinking fuel when I want to go faster.

hey barrett, did you drill a hole in the dash and push the wires through or did you just run them up from the bottom? I was thinkin of putting it there, but dont like the wires hanging out.

Thanks!

P.S. BJS...I hear ya...but at an age of 24....I just like to know when the coppers are around!

x2... 21 here and if i pull up next to a ricer at a light i wanna know if johnny law is around before a puff a cloud and make some noise.... its more of a "don't do something completely stupid right in front of the cops" tool than a long drive highway/interstate tool....

of course if us youngsters weren't being youngsters we wouldn't have to worry about it :D

Sadly I'm not much older than you guys, I bought a detector when I was 16 and threw it in the trash about 5 years ago after not using it for a few years before that. Not to mention that most cops around here only have the gun on when they are shooting traffic, local dept protocol is momentary spot shooting and they run 90% laser guns too.

funny you say that.. i had one on my 03 and it was wired into my cb wires so there were no wires hanging down.. when my 03 got hit i pulled it out and i haven't found enough motivation to wire it back together and put it in the new truck... i just know where Jourdan is coming from haha

I drilled a hole in the back of the cubby. I'll try to get a pic.
