Been reading the forum for a while but my first post. I had a 2000 Excursion and bought a new one in 04. I had changed the wheels to 16" MB Motoring with Michelin LTX M/S 265/75/R16 E rated tires. They now have close to 90,000 miles and I will need to change them soon.
I pull a 38 Cigarette about 14,500 on the trailer and really do not want to lift the truck as I have added Firestone airbags and just put new Rancho shocks on.
I love the Michelin LTX M/S ride and wear and security peace of mind. I want to put on 20" rims and tires but do not want to rub.
They make LTX M/S in 275/60 TR20 and in 275/55 TR20
They also have a new LTX AT/2 tire but I do not know if it is as great a tire as the old LTX (I have had them on my two Suburbans too)
The LTX AT/2 come in 275/60 SR20 and 285/55R20
I know I need forged rims but I do not know how big I can go without rubbing on the turns.
The truck is 4WD so I am sure someone on here has done an EX or F250 extended cab.
How do you calibrate the speedo as the rolling diameter will be off. I have the Diablo programmer. Also the other tires are about 15 pounds heavier. Will that affect drive, steering, or parts wear much?
Thanks for the advice.
Carl
