I would think it would be in their best interest to offer you a vehicle a level above yours. Just so you can see how nice it would be to upgrade. I think it would be a good marketing oppurtunity.

If owned a dealership I think I would always give loaner of whatever vehicle the person wanted.

I'm not so sure I would. There's lots of people out there who'd hack the crap out of a loaner vehicle--then the dealership is stuck with a brand new, untitled vehicle with damage.

But I see your point. If a guy comes in to get his $40,000 truck serviced, he's probably a safe bet to give a 2008 with the 6.4 for a day or so. Would probably generate a lot more sales, especially if the motor is as good as the hype. Once the bug bites, it's hard to say no to a new truck.

I agree! Although I've found that an empty wallet is a powerful anti-venom to the new truck bug bite.
