There are 8 bulbs in parallel, so resistance will read very low.
Try with bulbs removed. The ground is probably for the PWM module,

theres two connectors on the head light switch with one black wire on one connetor and two brown wires on the other. black go's to ground, brown goes to light's. we checked continuity between them and somehow some where there all shorted together

if a single bulb was still in the socket it will show to be shorted with a continuity tester. That what a bulb is really, a dead short. Budro

we thought about that but couldnt find it. and we ran out of time cause i leave for work for four days at a time so it'll be thurs. before we start on it. does any one know where the g.e.m. is?

whatabudro, i am looking through my factory cd.. and it appears that only pieces of "electronics" besides wire in the circuit are the switch that is connected by a brown wire to the dimmer module that is called a "pulse width dimmer moduele" that is then connected to everything that dims with a brown wire with a red tracer (not 100% on the color)

your instrument cluster lights should be 6 bulbs in parallel

you might try your dimmer module??

i'm trying to get some dang diagrams up but the puter is fighting me tooth and nail sorry.. hope this helps

if that doesn't work check your flux capacitor.. it aids in time travel LOL

That was my orginal intention.
As I pointed out about the resistance of the lamps.
He mentioned they done a continuity check, this may or not be a "continuity tester", a safe assumption is that it could also designate a ohmeter, eithe VOM or DMM.
Also that the lamps are not wired thru the GEM.

well im back home. tues. i went to the gas station arond the corner, bout 1/8 mile. go in come back out lights on dinger is dingin' and the door locks are goin up and down on their own. either my truck is haunted, or every thing is goin wrong. either way this is getin out of control. . so i called the dealer, they said its gotta be the gem. $360

i went to the dealer again. they gave me a little discount, $312 down from $360. . so it'll be here at 9:00 in the mornin'.one of the guys in there said his ex was doin almost the same thing but wouldnt go into detail about it.and it's (the gem) located just under the headlight switch on the back side of the fuse box. oh, iasked obut the p.w.m. they said maybe , htey dont know. . well find out tomorrow.
