Looking at upgrading since the prices are in the crapper, but I know the 6.0's had their issue's for a few years. What are good years to stay away from? 04-05? Drove an 07 yesterday and it had a lot more snort than the 04 I drive for work.

What month does the next model year start? I thought it was 9 but the one I speak of had 06/06 on the door and they called it an 07.

They all can be great!!!
But any one of them bad. Years 05 and up to answer your question! But, I would take an 03 6.0 with head steds and a lariot package over a stock 07 xlt. All can be great. BUt of all years's, stock, years 2005 and up pretty much figured it out. JUst my opinion.
The 6.0 is a cool motor, but dependability the 7.3 was better. (stock) 6.0's are cool too!!
Get a good deal, and be happy and dont read negitave posts... Not many happy owners come to web sites tp brag! Just the real mad ones! Just figure if you get a good deal and need to work on heads(no biggie cause you got a good deal to start with) If they dont screw up you win big! Ford trucks are sweet.
Buit I am not only for ford, I like my dodges too. Trucks are cool. all is well accross the board,. Look for dings dents, etc, if is a nice truck go for it. Make sure the head gaskets are good when you buy it.. The ford truck has a great tranny, good looks and drives great. If coolant pukes you will have to fix it. But fix it once(good studs)!!!
Hope all you guy aggree? The motor itself(6.0) is cool.

The questionable years are 03-04. 05's were hit or miss, but 06-07 were pretty dang great. 08 model is when the body changed.

what he said
late 06 build through 07 were pretty much fixed

however late build 05's also had very few issues
except for the hpop quick disconnect, but once it fails they fix it right :dunno:stir

I have an '04 with 75kmi, and couldn't be happier! Most of the members here have 6.0, because there were more of those built. You can read thru the 6.0 forums for yourself, and you won't see any cronic complaints. There are more rumors out there than witnesses who lived them.

I say, don't be afraid of the 6.0, just look for a good deal on a good truck!

I love my 2004, October of '03 built 6.0

158,000 and problem free.................................

I have had plenty done to it, EGR coolers, head studs, turbo's, FICM, but it's still a good truck and I love her.
