What can I say, Robert...the Air Force knows how to live. I remember my technical school was a purple suit affair run by the Army. When it rained, we zoomies could actually use umbrellas, something that was verboten for the grunts and squids. Things have changed in the Air Force, though. The last week of basic training is actually done out in the field, where the troops live in tents and eat MREs...your kidding

seriously when i was up in Bismark, they had heated floors in the hangars
the aircraft sure did like that warmth
sure made it nice working on them all warm and cozy

It's called the blocker bar or something like that. Your bumper is missing the lower cowl that usually covers it up.
It's either what Roy sez.. or, in your thrucks past life...it's part of the sub frame for the "high rail" system.. for ride'n the rails as an RR Inspection vehicle... ? which could also be what those hoses under the hood were part of ?
