1968 F100 Custom Step Side LWB with a 240 CID straight 6 with a 3 speed on the column shifter. All the power you could put into the steering. If you played with the manual choke you could make her get up to about 73 MPH. No radio No AC just truck and motor. :sweet

I'm a little older than some of you children, but I remember that first car with very fond thoughts. I was a country boy in East Texas and bought that first one a 1940 Ford Coupe from a "Tote The Note" car lot in Titus County. It cost me $185.00 dollars $25.00 down and $6.00 a week. For a 13 year old working in the local slaughter house it was a heep of money. To relive that memory though all I have to do is look in the garage, I still have that same old Ford today, don't have a clue how I managed to keep it all those years but somehow I did.

Hombre

My first ride was a 1964 Ford F-100 with a 428 Cobra Jet and a 4 speed Top Loader in it. My dad and I built it, and yes, I broke all kinds of parts!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clutches, Drive Lines and 9" rear ends don't like a 16 year old kid with 450HP and little or no traction! HA HA HA

My first one was a 59 MGA when I was 15. My Mom was driving it home when the engine failed. I learned a lot replacing that engine. Car was fun but never never a british car again.

My parents bought this 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7. Had blown up 302 and vinyl top ripped bad. They fixed it up, dropped a 289 hi po out of our boat in it and drove it for a long time. It was my moms car. I was brought home from the hospital when I was born in this car. Its my baby! It was parked in 86 when we bought our bronco II. When I was gettin ready to start my freshman yr, I bought the car from my parents. Got it in driving condition and worked on it through out the school yr and drove it everyday too. Loudest car there hehe:sweet. Had it painted my senior yr just in time for my senior pics. This is what it looks like as of right now. I still got it and drive it every now and then. Needs restored badly but still looks pretty good.
