New '08 250

I just bought an F250 3.73 extended SB.

Drove back from DC to ATL towing a light weight 16ft enclosed trailer.

Running 70-80 I got 10.5mpg ................ crappy if you ask me !!! from all the 17-20mpg stories I heard, this is pretty bad.

I was a hair away from buying a 2500 Dodge 2008 that I drove and it got a real 17mpg right off the lot.

got 08 6.4 f350 longbed with my programmer intake and 5 inch dpf bak im getting 12mpg but a solid 11mpg city thats driving around and in los angelos , now freeway 18-20mpg at 70mph but i never drive 70 ppl push even in the farthest lane , so im getting 15avg goin 80 thats with 3.73's

I just bought a 2008 F250 SUPERCAB LONG-BED 4X2, i now have 241 miles and I'm getting 9.2 miles a gallon !!!! THAT'S SUCKS !! I should have gotten the DODGE CUMMINS.

I did find out about something, Ford is getting hits with people calling about the MPG on the 6.4. So Ford is now there looking into the problem.

HI Dogman, Well FORD better find a solution, my old 1999 F250 7.3PSD SUPERCAB LONG-BED 4X2 was giving me 15.5 to 19.0 MPG and thats with the A/C on and me driving like I stole it, lots of MIAMI traffic !!! Now this NEW 2008 F250 6.4PSD SUPERCAB LONG-BED 4X2 is giving me 9.2 MPG per the computer, I feel FORD is SODOMIZING me with crushed glass, salt, vinager, and alcohol !!! I wasn't happy with my old TRUCK'S MPG, So you know I'm MAD AS HELL with 9.2 MPG !!!

Man its brand new. It needs to break in a bit. Give it til 5-10k and shell open up.

yeah that mpg is low, i would be upset a bit too....what gear ratio do you have?

08,6.4 psd, supercab s/b 4x4. 9500 miles, 3.73's. 13-14 around town,( town is all of 2.5 miles across) and i've seen 20 on the hwy with the cruise on at 62. 10 mpg. Pulling my trailer 11,000 lbs.Bill

My 08 6.4 crew cab short bed dually fx4 with 4.10's is averaging 11.2 so far. But it does only have 1300 miles on it. I am hoping this will improve with time. My 85 6.9 crew cab long box with 4.10's and a zf 5spd would average 15 empty and 9 pulling 15,000 at 65.

HI atk, My truck has 3.73 gears, I wonder if I can get 2.73 or even 3.08 gears ????
