Question What improve your MPG

Turbo back MBRP exhaust gave me 1mpg, XCAL and tunes from Spartan gave me another 2.5

Just got back from towing my boat to and from WI. Gear and boat probably 3k. Not a lot, but towing a load nonetheless. I got 17.5 mpg. That was at 60 mph, 2,000 rpm with my 4.30 geared duallie.

The xcal REALLY improved the mpg's when towing. Towing my 65 Pontiac and trailer I get 13.5 - 15 depending on wind, and that's a 6,500 load.

Hard tires, tach for cruise instead of speedometer, 60 mph max., synthetic front to back, not using the a/c until it hits 90 degrees.

What kind of MPGs were you getting before the chip? After the chip?

before: 13-14
after: 18-20

I think I can get more.
I'm still learning the power curve.

I was tipping in the go-pedal til I felt it pull.. that was about 2,000 rpm
I think that it's really about 1,750 rpm where it starts to work...
so there the tach stays, in that window..
I filled it yesterday after we got back from the parade and I dropped the trailer..

so we'll see..
