;tu Thanks

A couple'a side notes ?

1. If any 2012/2013 DRW 4X4 owners want to do a OEM Wheel/Hubcap mod of some sort.. ALL the after-market wheel accessory guyz are telling me..Somewhere in late 2011.. Ford changed the wheel/axle hub bore diameter, to a larger bore. "They" don't offer any axle caps or covers [YET].. until they Tool Up for the change.. IF they tool up. No one has heard of any availablity coming, anytime soon.

I just cleaned up and painted the Dana axle hubs with a Flat Black, oil & rust resistant, high temp paint. (Rustoleum.. Walmart)

2. On the Air Dam delete. There's a unpolished, rolled edge on the bottom of the bumper when you've dropped the air dam. IMO, it looks kinda Funky if left naked & alone.

I just scored it with a 60 grit sanding disk.. and painted It.. with the above paint too.

:dunno

Joe

On Edit: By deleting the Air Dam.. it left/leaves some nicly located holes in the bottom of the bumper (?).. for mounting a pair of Aux Driving Lights (?), inboard of the Tow Hooks ? :sly

Big day of stuff on my pickup. Did an LOF, and an air filter change. Bought 2 new Red Tops because I'm tired of jump starting it (old batteries are 7+ years old). Took out the grill to install some hardware cloth (screen) behind for the spring bug catcher. I have the Weathertech window visors to install if I get to it after I swap out the new headlamps I got. I have the Ranch hand grill guard off for some modification in the tow hook mounts, and to repair the frame bumper bracket mounts. Hopefully tommorrow I'll install the Diesel Transfer kit on the tank and have that ready to go for my upcomming road trip. Heck, I may even clean out the interior like a pro using shampoo and everything. At approx 156K miles, it was time to show my truck some love.
I entered it in the Fabulous Fords Forever car show in Buena Park CA, so I have some motivation.

Put on a new Driver's front hub unit assembly. Old one was shot. I'm afraid the right one will want to go out now.

Since my trip to the car show in CA....I have let Larry H Miller Ford in Provo, UT install a factory rebuilt 4R100 HD transmission with the 3 yr unlimited mileage warranty. Best deal running on a Saturday morning to get me rolling again that afternoon :) . That was just to get me home from the trip. Also replaced all 4 ball joints, front calipers and rotors, rear pads and all 4 shocks. I look forward to new tires shortly after the first snowfall....

well, honestly, it wasn't today (or even yesterday), but I built a set of steps from handrail tube and 1/2" steel plate to replace the rusted out Westins that were about 10 years old. Nice TIG welds and some spraycan bedliner and bolted them straight to the frame instead of the (IMO) crappy body-mount style.

Nuh - uh. It didn't happen unless you post pics!

1/2" plate x 7" step width x 7 feet running board length (heavy!), cantilevered all the way outboard from being bolted to the frame (leverage!). This I gotta see. Especially when you talk about how nice your TiG welds are. Anyone with the patience to TiG 1/2" plate must be heck of a metal craftsman. Pics please forthwith!
