I was getting some funny feedback in the steering wheel. Looked in under and the stabilizer was all wet. Took it off and it was easy to push the rod in and out. My guess is half of the fluid had run out, since the rod would wiggle in and out pretty easily about 1/2" before any resistance was felt.

By funny feedback are you meaning the steering suddenly felt light than usual? Mine has just started doing this and I have been waiting for the weather to get better so I can crawl under and take a look.

Yeah, the steering wheel turned a little easier. I didn't really notice that right away in mine. I did notice with the new one on that the steering is a little more snug feeling. When turning the wheel it did feel like there was a little play in the steering with the bad stabilizer. Best way to check them is to pull the rod end bolt out and see how the stabilizer responds to pushing and pulling on it. It will not rebound like a shock absorber, it is there to dampen sudden movements, so the wheel doesn't get ripped from you'r hands so to speak. My bad stabilizer was easy to move in and out. The rod would also move in and out about 1/2" before it had any resistance.
I personally think the factory stabilizers are a little undersized if you drive on dirt roads alot, or if you'r roads are really bumpy like the ones here in PA. This one lasted me about 65,000 miles, so I guess that's not to bad.

I had the tranny serviced today.

I have actually thought about doing a mod like this myself, I would be interested in the pics and how much PSI it will put out.
