Funny thing is the wife was having the same thought on selling the X earlier this week but didn't want to say anything but.........she really values her truck(acquired title in Nov '05) and keep it for towing/heavy utility tasks & keep the Mustang in the garage while having the Sport Wagen TDI in the driveway

i look at it this way <and i dont have an X>...it might only
get Y-mpg but when you mulitply that per person not much beats it.

sure you can stuff 5 in a prius...but the only folks that will be
happy about it will be the ones that didnt ride in the prius !

i dont know 'bout yall...but having a paid off vehicle is a great feeling...
even if i burn enough fuel to EQUAL a payment im still ahead of the game

It's only the wife and my two sons 6 & 8 that would be traveling in the wagen. We don't have a whole lot of gear(athletics wise) that would go into the cargo area so that won't be an issue.

Main purpose for the new car is that it gets over 40mpg,we can park it anywhere vs the Excursion is parking challenged,doesn't take 15 quarts oil per oil change,smaller fuel tank and so on
