no, just real dumb. They clearly had no idea what I was talking about. This is the same dealer that told me my waste gate was sticking when I was trying to figure out what the EBPV noise was.

There are a bunch of dumb dealers and salesmen out there. Years ago my dad (who passed away in '91) was at the local Ford dealership in our home area in Louisiana talking with the dealer's son-in-law (who was also the general manager) about Crown Victoria's (the previous body style from 79-91). My dad asked the guy if a certain piece of equipment was available on the CV (I think it was viny seats) and the guy said no it wasn't. So my dad found a brochure and showed him that he was wrong. The guy didn't say "Thanks", "Kiss my *****", or anything; just turned away and walked off. Needless to say, that Ford dealership is now out of business and there is no Ford dealership in that town, only a GM/Chrysler dealer.

I've got an idea for a great aftermarket part for the '08 models. I don't have the means or the motivation to do it myself so you won't be stealing my idea if you do it. Anyway here it is...custom lighting that puts the amber lights back on the bottom where they belong. Other than that it looks pretty good. You think that tailgate with the fold out step would fit on an '06? That would be kind of cool to have.

But in the case of the dealers...If you think guys on the mainland don't know anything about diesels you should try to buy one out here in Hawaii. During the test drive I almost told the guy to shutup so that I could just listen to the turbo sing. He was talking about the radio and stuff. I don't care about that, I'm going to put in a better one later on anyway. Then he let the appraisal guy take my keys off and hide then in the sales office so I couldn't just leave. Pretty good tactic for me because it allowed me to tell him I was leaving for the fifth time and when he came back with the keys he had a price I couldn't turn down. I had to call the bank on Monday but that wasn't good enough, he had to make the sale that day. So at 9:45 I started for my truck and he got pissed and started almost hollering at me. Complaining about how late it was and how he stayed so long and blah, blah, blah. Said the price would go back up on Monday and that the truck would get sold by then anyway. I said that was a chance i was willing to take and left. I left, still in the GMC, but with a good set of numbers. The next day I just happend to check out the other Ford Stealership and they had a better one for cheaper. After listening to the lack of knowledge they had I bought their truck using the numbers I got from the other place adjusted for the cheaper truck. Thing is, they let me do buisness the way I wanted to do it.

I did drive by the other dealership and honked and waved at the a-hole that got mad at me in my brand new PSD. Wish I had a camera to capture the look on his face.
