Guess where I went for a visit yesterday? My former place of employment. I wanted to pick up a couple of things for my camper. They have their 3rd anniversary sale going on and everything in the parts store is 15% off. Everybody was there from the owners on down. They didn't say boo to me and visa versa. When the cashier was ringing up my stuff, the manager came up and joked "Make sure you charge him extra". I didn't look at him. I didn't say a word to him. I totally 100% ignored him and didn't even acknowledge his presence. Later while I was talking to the cashier and a sales gal, he came up and had that "you hurt my feelings" look on his face. Too bad, karma really sucks sometimes.

I chatted with the guy who replaced me. I shared a little experience & knowledge with him. I showed him a quick reference book I built when I worked there. He was very overjoyed to see that realizing what a big time saver it'll be. I also explained about a few other things like RV keys, how to re-key door locks and how to replace lost keys for RV's. He was pretty happy to learn about that too. So at least the new guys know that Kent wasn't let go for being an arsehole or incompetent.

I never had any real problems with any of the folks in back. Just the people in the front offices.

The new parts guy asked for & wrote my cell phone number down in case he ever has any questions. I'd say my mission was a success. :)

Good for you TG. What comes around goes around and the manager's time is coming.

He has no idea how true that statement is.

When that store opened 3 years ago in March 2006, there were (counting me) somewhere around 22 to 25 people working there. At the end of last season, of that original number, there were only two of the originals left, the receptionist and me. Now that I'm gone, she is the "last soldier standing". If you do the math, over a 3 year period, Hilltop RV in Ishpeming Michigan has had over a 95% turnover in personnel. That doesn't even account for the people who have come & gone since. The current manager is now in his 3rd year.

One of the new RV sales staffmembers, has over 20 years as a RV dealer manager.

Knowing they have hired someone with more experience than the current manager now in his 3rd year, and knowing that 95% of the employees don't last beyond three years, you think that means anything???

Not only is the writting on the wall, but I think the house is about ready to cave-in on him.

Good job on maintaining your composure. I am sure you really wanted to tell him how you really felt. I think not saying anything at all said more than if you had told him how you felt!

Update!!!!! Karma really does suck

As you probably previously gathered, there is no love lost between me and my former manager.

Apparently according to a nameless source, while we were out of town for our daughter's graduation, it was all over the local news about a hit & run accident. About 2 a.m. on Sunday (right after the bars closed?), a car hit another parked car and left the scene of the accident. It was determined by police investigation, the vehicle involved was a green Buick.

Monday morning, everybody at my former employer begins showing up for work. Parked in the corner of the lot hidden between some RV's was a green Buick with the side all messed up. Everybody knew who's car it was. It seems that a tip was called in to the police by a Mr. Ano Nymous. A short while later, the city police were examining the car. Right after that, they were in the office of the manager talking to him.

This evening I did some looking around on-line, and sure enough, there was an misdemeanor arrest warrant issued last month for my arch nemesis. The charge, leaving the scene of an accident. It seems that karma really does suck sometimes.

I really feel so sorry for him, NOT!! :tounge:tounge

I don't know if the owners know about this yet or even how he tried to hide the evidence (his car) on their property. Also I wonder how the company's insurance provider will respond when they find out? I doubt they'd want him driving company vehicles.
