Ye 'ol White 2K did a Fine Job.. Run'n with the "Big Dogs". Pure Proud'a the Ol' Boy. Grinnometer pegged several times as we passed many.. that were struggling on the grades.. Life is Good.

sounds like you had a great start and the truck is working for you....:sweet

Yep, work'n Real Good. Put the "Zilla" in the 120hp mode before we left home. Down shift according to RPMs/EGTs and let the ol' 444 do it's bidness.

FWIW ? This 62 MPH thing I've comitted to is amazing. I've done this I-40 thing for years. I'm think'n that with in a hour, or so, I did the 540 miles in the same time. Easier on the equipment too.

Wasted a good 2 hours in truck stops fool'n 'round about paying for fuel. Both stations now >Required< you to go inside and get in line, photo ID then they want to verify the card, hold the card, then you pump the fuel, then go back inside, get in line >PIA<.... they handed me a Tree's worth of paper... just useing an ATM/Debit card. Cost of fuel issues, they told me. Bogus/Altered cards'n the like.

Being the Quik Learner that I am.. I'm fuel'n up with my Pac Pride & CFN cards, at the un-manned stations, from now on when I can.

Payed 4.90 in Caly.. 5.02 in AZ. Truckers are saying Dezel gets cheaper (?) the further East we go... Not Much Cheaper, but Cheaper.

Sounds like you are having fun Joe; and that is the main reason for going.
60-65 mph was my speed also. You get to see the country while getting good mpg plus not having the stress of running up on other vehicles all the time. "except for chevys and dodges" lol..
Let us know how the weather is between New Mexico and Texas.
To get past the fuel problem, we just paid in cash. No waiting and no hassles.

Awesome Joe, keep it 'tween the ditches my friend.

Are you coming as far East as Bamaland?

We plan on it Bama. We're guna do the whole Smokey Mt. route to Atlanta, then east again.. just how & when, dont know yet.

60-65 Rules. I'm like'n it. A Big YES on the NO stress too. Got the "Pay Cash" go'n on also. I refuel at 1/2 a tank so it dont hurt so bad ;) ;tu

At Albuquerque we're headed North Max.. Santa Fe, Taos then "red roads" into Okla, then up into Kansas, on up to NE Nebraska.. to see friends. That's the "Plan in the Sand".. could change without notice ;):)

The ONLY thing we could say.. with any certainty is:

We're headed North EASTERLY (for now, maybe):lmao
