I know water pump failures are common, but do you guys replace with aftermarket or OEM? Powerstroke shop has a kit for $315.00 (http://catalog.powerstrokeshop.com/...catalogid=3660&siteid=214083&categoryID=90666 . I'm going to add the 203 thermostat and new serpentine belt. Any other recommendations, like temp sending unit?

I would REALLY like to find a mechanic (Dallas / Ft. Worth) with a shop to work with me on the installation. I can do work, with some help and direction, but I don't have the tools or shop.

I am really a lurker on here, but I lurk a lot and appreciate the overall help.

Powerstrokeshop has a BRAND NEW American made by Eastern Industries of Florida aftermarket water pump (gasket and sealing rings included)for $113.75. click here for link. In a previous thread it was all but decided that eastern Industries makes the pump that Ford sells.

The $315 unit comes with
F81Z8501FA Water Pump(same as the $113.75 pump)
F6TZ8575AA Thermostat and Gasket
F81Z8592AA Upper Connector
F81Z8592BA Lower Connector
F81Z8255AA Lower Connector Gasket
If your tubes are not rusted then you don't need the extra stuff.
