My 05 X has just hit 8,000 miles and my water in fuel light has never turned on. I only use diesel from a heavily used truck stop near the interstate.

Is it possible that I have gotten such quality diesel it never had water in it?

My X is garaged so it doesn't sit in the cold, hence I would think no condensation in gas tank.

I have the new drain plug ready to go but I always believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Mike, it will come on trust me, at some point you'll get some funky fuel.

You really need to drain the HFCM monthly to get the crud out.
Use and additive Stanadyne or Diesel Kleen ( I like the Diesel Kleen white bottle myself) and you will be ahead of the game so to speak.

I have 65,000 miles and I have never seen mine come on. The key is to use a station that has a high turnover of their fuel.

What drain plug are you referring to? What I mean is where do you buy this aftermarket piece?

Do you drain HFCM when you change the oil?
