You can cross a creek deeper than you would ever want to. You will get wet sitting it tne driver's seat. I don't know how deep that is, but several feet would be possible. Enter at your own risk!!!

The first thing to go under would be the axle vents. If you are planning on deep water often you should raise the axle vents. The air intake on the engine is just below the hood level so like Dave says several feet would be possible. If you were going in deeper than the top of the front bumper I would recommend pulling the fan so that it doesn't blow water all over the electronics and into the intake. How deep are you going?

By the way, nice bumper. I am sure the kangaroos don't have a chance when they step out in front of that one.

I would not go in much past the bottom of the front bumper. Your air intake is about mid way up the grill. Any waves or current surges could get up in there much past that level.

That said, you will be getting your feet wet at that level (or pretty close), which is probably too deep for me, anyway.

If your axles go in, your fluid needs to be monitored in all undercarriage applications. Tranny, t-case, differentials. They can fill with water if the vents or any leaking areas get submerged. This dilutes your oil, or even worse, can build up enough water that it boils under the heat of operation and forces the oil up and out of the vent tube, effectively draining your axles of any lubrication. This happened to a buddy of mine.

Since oil sits on top of water, as the water "boils over" fromt eh heat, the oil is pushed out of the vent and all over the road. Water doesn't lube very good.

Unless you have big brass ones, you are not going to feel comfortable going in deep enough to hurt something, IMHO, but it is hard to say waht everybody's comfort level is. I just stay the heck out of water with my truck. If I have a creek to cross, I get out the GRIZZ! (Check sig)

You lost me? Are you referring to the Kangaroo comment? He is in Australia and that is a kangaroo bumper on the front of the truck in his avatar. I was being serious for once and I still came across as a smart ass. Thats what I get for being one.
