vents

Hi there, i have a question to anyone out there, i have a 2001 f350 7.3L and when i have the a/c on vents it works good for about ten minutes then it switches itself to the defrost kind of, well it doesnt blow well at all, turn the truck off for a hour then it will work again, any ideas? thanks

FWD ? If so, check the Vacuum lines at/around your front hubs.

If not, check all your vacuum lines.. under the hood & dash.

When there is a vacuum leak.. the system goes to default.. which is.. Defrost.

the hubs were changed a few times, now they are full manual, so the vaccum line have been plugged by the hubs, would plugging these lines affect my vent system?

If they have leaks, yes. Where are they blocked off?

they are plugged off right at the bracket off the frame where the hose used to run down to the hub

It's 12v electricaly driven, If the Key/ignition is on, it's energized.

rt hand side of the engine bay, right next to the tank/reservoir..
key on, engine off, pop the line from the pump to the tank off the pump.. pump should run.. replace the line, pump should quit..

Bet its your vacuum pump. Just had to replace my gf's pump on her 99 7.3 yesterday. It wouldnt come on at all when the key was on. Got hers at Napa for $89. Ford is $189. Napa actually had it in stock.
