Yesterday I went to my mom's house in Louisiana (600 mile round trip), and on the way back on I-20 near Shreveport, I thought I'd do a mental count of the various Super Duties I saw in the opposite lanes. I separated them into three categories: 99-07, 08-10, and 2011 (because of the fender badges that was the easiest to recognize from the other lanes). In the course of 30-40 miles, I counted 16 99-07's, 8 08-10's, and 14 2011's. I thought the 2011 count (and I probably missed several overall) was interesting since that's only one model year and the others were multiple years. Maybe that also shows that many drivers/companies love the new 2011.

most of the '11 I've seen are PSD's and for the most part I think that is true for SD trucks in general.

I'd address the disparity of the '08-'10 trucks especially in the diesels due the the fact that it was known that the 6.0 was a problem child at the introduction and people expected the same for the 6.4 early this also coincided with the public knowledge of the 6.7. I think people have more faith in the designers @ ford than navistar. knowing that when they design from the ground up it's all in their control and in a heavily competitive market they aren't going to enter without a sure thing. so people delayed buying trucks a couple years to buy the new engines.

I was out checking new camping sites on my vacation and I picked up that there were more f-250 and 350. Towing 5th wheel and bumper dragger's then any other truck. I was at one camp that has maybe 150 camping sites and there was 35 to 40 F 250 and 350 trucks. Wife said she counted 12 f150 there also.

Yes, the F150 will now tow more than the older F-250's with all the new engines and technology. I saw a couple of F-150's with some pretty big fifth wheel/gooseneck trailers behind them. I also saw another F-150 pulling a bumper pull trailer with a triple axle on it. It looked like it was doing pretty good too. Just can't beat our Fords and the things they can do.

Yea great to see so many FOMOCO's on the road! But was there any doubt. Ford has the truck market pretty much in the everyday drivers and fleet market. When I was campin lots of superdutys out there. Especially the 2011's! Those things are everywhere! Im hearin so many good things on that motor! And that tranny as well. Plus I see so many Fusions and Foci too! And cant forget all the Econoline vans! For every 1 GM junk van I see probably 10 Ford vans:D:sly:sweet. Built Ford Tough!:sweet

I live in a small town of about 17,000 people and there are two Dodges to every Ford truck. This is the first place I have lived in and seen that many Dodges. There is no Dodge dealer here, and the closest one is over an hour away. I guess the closest one is giving them away. There is a local Chevy dealer but they lag behind Ford in the numbers of trucks.

There is also a large supply of Dodge trucks here in my county for some reason. Big dealership right across the border in SC (40 min. trip), but we have a local Ford dealership and Chevy/GM dealer here as well. Dodge local dealer closed up about 6 years ago when the original owner died. There are a lot of horse owners here and I see a lot of Dodge and Ford diesel trucks here, but very few Duramaxes for some reason.

There are several '11 powerstrokes running around, but I have not had a chance to check them out for myself. I love seeing the title on my '01 every time I open the gun safe though. Ford really did a good job on styling the new SDs.
