just changed the oil in my truck and used valvoline synthetic 5w40...i always liked valvoline products in my gas vehicles, just wanted other opinions. oil change wasn`t cheap though, 125 bucks canadian for oil and filter....oil change intervals, i am thinking probaly every 7500km, but i am used to do changes every 5000km, not sure what i am going to do yet....

Your pick

I think when it really boils down to it its all in what you like. I do know that Valvoline makes great products, never have tried any in my diesel. I run Rotella 15w-40 for one general reason. Rotella is the manufacturer spec. on my truck and most all diesel mechanics that you talk to swear by it. People have been using it in diesel's probably since Rudolph's day. As far as intervals thats up to your descretion and what you use the truck for. Factory say's 5-7 but since i do a good bit of hauling i lean towards 5. Just to be safe. Good luck in whatever you decide. Look forward to hearing how it works out for you.

I would check to see if the Valvoline oil meets the new API CJ-4 standard for diesel engines. Rotella T meets the new standards.
