Vacation Question

Howdy All,
On Monday we are going to Destin Fl. I was hoping I could get a couple of things from some of y'all.
1) Would anyone who lives in La, Southern Ms., Southern Al., or the Destin Fl area be willing to PM me their cell phone numbers just in case of a breakdown / help. I am more than happy to do the same for anyone driving thru the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.
2) Anyone living in these states know of major construction on the Interstates 10, & 20 and the best way to get around the construction?

I checked LA's DOTD site: http://www.dotd.louisiana.gov/construction/state_map.shtml for contruction projects and found some asphalt overlays on I-20 East of Monroe, and some work on I-10 near Baton Rouge. The I-10 work was involving new concrete for lanes, plus some "signage" constructon. The yellow areas on the map indication the road construction. Most of the project are on US and state highways, very little on interstates. With my mother living in North Central Louisiana, I have traveled I-20 from Lindale, TX (Exit 556) to Arcadia, LA (Exit 69) for several years. Usually, if there's some "major" contructon on I-20, they'll usually route both directions of traffic onto one side (one lane each way) while working on the other side. If you plan on traveling on I-10 between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, get ready for a "bucking" ride. We went to New Orleans three years ago to a convention, pulled the 5th wheel with the PSD, and we felt like we were in a rodeo part of the way. Hope you have a great trip.
