using the snap-on mt2500

Hey guys, is anyone familiar with this scanner? it's been better than a decade since i used one and was wondering what i needed to get going? I have the scanner and an OBD-II (B) MT2500-46B adaptor, and thats it.

I have a early 99 7.3L SD but i may buy a newer/nicer 7.3L SD and possibly even a gas motor SD. I'd like to be able to use it on anything I get.

Thanks

Here's a link to my winnings:

see how much cartridges are for it..
you'll need two.. the domestic scan and the domestic troubleshooter..

the brick was a good unit, except it could only be updated by changing cartridges, which made it expensive to maintain..

For someone in the business, I'd recommend the OTC or it's MAC and MATCO variants...

I'm hoping it will work out for me for home use, since I'll only need it for a few vehicles. What about personality keys though,i didn't get any with the scanner.

that was a nice scanner in its day.you will need the keys as been stated.i dont think you can get any updated cartridges for it unless you find them used somewhere.not sure if it will work on the psd but it should if it has the right cartridges in it.i had this one and the one that replaced it.

K2A is the key or just K2. I have one of these. It works good on the 7.3's. I have all the keys cartridges etc. I was thinking of selling mine but i need to get 400 shipped but its all there from what i can see. Case and all.

I already have the scanner, but could you tell me which cartridge you use to run tests? I was gonna snatch this one:
Snap On MT2500 Cartridge Troubleshooter Domestic 2000
and a K2/K2A key

OK, you're using the programmable cartridges. I wanted to get those but they're expensive. I think yours can be used on anything up to 2004 model year.
