So I've recently talked to a friend who has customers who blend any type of used motor oil with their diesel fuel and he was saying they where doing it 50% used motor oil with 50% diesel fuel.
I'm curious to know if you can do such a thing with a completely stock SDD or if its even worth it.
Thoughts?

Many wise man that can't have told you to not to. They have good reason to do so.
However, I'm approaching eighteen thousand miles on just such a thing. Not a SD, but OBS 7.3.
Used oil. Blend with regular unleaded. Let sit three days plus. Drain sludge. Filter through a five filter rack. Fill. Drive. Repeat.
Motor oil. ATF. My current crop is waste hydraulic oil with eighteen percent gas added. I call it WHO82.
Fuel costs about $.67/gallon plus State fuel tax at 26.5 cents per gallon.
Those that say not to do it are also correct. When I first started, I learned to change my on board fuel filter in as little as four minutes and eighteen seconds. On the side of the road.
I got good at it because it was clogging in as little as one hundred miles. Repeatedly. I bought so many fuel filters from my local distributor that he gave me a very impressive fleet discount. I think he felt sorry for me. Now I change my fuel filter every other oil change.
YMMV.
